Screen-printed labels

Screen printing lays down a great deal of ink, giving very intense colours and very opaque whites that no other technique can match, along with tactile effects and special high-build varnishes you can feel. It is the tool we turn to when a label has to stand out not only to the eye, but also to the touch.

It shines above all on very clear films, to achieve the coveted 'no label look' — the label that seems printed straight onto the container — and on dark backgrounds, where its opaque white gives a perfect base for the rest of the colours. That is why it is a regular in cosmetics, perfumery, spirits and premium products after a differentiating finish.

At BIOLID we use it as a layer of value within a hybrid process: we combine screen printing with offset or digital to add the image sharpness of one technique to the body and texture of the other. That way of working — choosing and combining the best of each process — sums up how we understand innovation and our commitment to a result you can notice.

If your brand wants a finish that can be felt with the fingers and that catches the eye on the shelf, screen printing is the answer. We will advise you on substrate, inks and effects to achieve exactly the feel you are after.

  • Very opaque whites and thick ink bodies that cannot be matched.
  • Tactile effects and high-build varnishes you can feel.
  • Excellent results on transparent films: the 'no label look'.
  • A perfect opaque base for printing colour on dark substrates.
  • A differentiating finish for cosmetics, perfumery and premium products.
  • Can be combined with offset and digital in hybrid processes.

'No label look' effect

On clear film, the label blends into the container and looks printed directly on the glass or plastic.

Tactile inks and raised varnish

High-build varnishes and textures you can feel with your fingers, adding a sensory layer to the brand.

Cosmetics and perfumery

High-end finishes, opaque whites and special effects for beauty and fragrance products.

Hybrid processes

Screen printing combined with offset or digital to bring image sharpness and ink body together on the same label.

Briefing and desired effect

We define the substrate, the effect (opacity, raised finish, tactile) and whether a hybrid process with another technique makes sense.

Prepress and proofs

We prepare the screens and validate a proof showing the ink body and the final finish.

Screen printing

We apply the ink and varnish layers at the agreed thickness, alone or combined with offset/digital.

Finishing and delivery

Laminates, die-cutting and quality control; supplied on reels or sheets with the agreed traceability.

Compatible with transparent films, premium substrates and technical papers, on light or dark backgrounds. High-build inks and varnishes, with tactile effects and recycled and FSC® references available when the project allows it.
What does screen printing add over other techniques?

Thick ink bodies, very opaque whites and tactile effects and high-build varnishes you can feel that no other technique achieves with the same intensity.

Why is it the best option for the 'no label look'?

Because on clear film its opaque ink lets only the design show, without the substrate being noticed, so the label looks printed on the container itself.

Can it be combined with other techniques?

Yes. We work with hybrid processes in which screen printing brings body and texture and offset or digital bring image sharpness and fine detail.

Which sectors use it most?

Cosmetics, perfumery, spirits and premium products looking for a finish that stands out to the touch as well as to the eye.

Is it suitable for printing on dark backgrounds?

Yes: its opaque white creates a solid base on which the rest of the colours are then printed faithfully.

Is it compatible with sustainable substrates?

Where the project allows it, we work on recycled and FSC®-certified papers, keeping the special effects that characterise the technique.
