BIOLID Industrias Gráficas, a specialist in manufacturing self-adhesive, glue-applied and sleeve labels, keeps working on new projects despite the uncertainty of the period. The 2020 financial year closed with turnover very similar to the previous one, around €8M, offsetting the fall in automotive, industry and wineries with the good performance of food and cleaning products.
One focus is the development of international business, which in 2019 accounted for close to 20% of turnover, starting with growth in France. The other is sustainability: reducing plastic in packaging, promoting recyclable materials, optimising routes and obtaining certifications such as ISO 14001 and, shortly, FSC and IATF.
The most ambitious project is bringing the two facilities (Zamudio and Basauri) together into a single, energy self-sufficient plant.
